Sights
This site is very, very helpful with the travel guide. It's got many sights I
used, and you can't come across a more specific source of landmarks.
Seven Network - Athens 2004
What I already know: beach volleyball consits of 2 teams each with 2
players. It is a very hard game and it takes a lot of practise. Natalie Cook was
not partners with Nicole Sanderson in the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
What I want to know: what was the score?
What have I learned: Natalie Cook and her partner Nicole Sanderson beat
Italy in beach volleyball and are on their way to the semi-finals. They will
verse brazil in the finals. The men's team also made it through.
Analysis: I'm just blogging things that may seem relevant later. It is
good that we beat the Italians, but we havn't won yet.
Seven Network - Athens 2004
Channel 7 is the broadcaster of the Olympic Games. Without it, we wouldn't have
the full games broadcast. So, this site might have a lot of useful stuff. The
major sponsor.
ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games
This is probably one of the most important sites someone could use.
It has got:
results
medals
schedules
weather
and more...
What more could an assignment ask for?
I have been told to create a blog for my Olympics assignment. Here it is...
"Australia storms home to break the
relay drought" by Bevin Eakins
Sydney Morning Herald
!5th August 2004
http://smh.com.au/olympics/articles/2004/08/15/1092508204922.html
What I already know: Petria Thomas who has alrady won a few medals (3
slivers and a bronze) in a swimming race has, with her fellow reelay team, won a
gold medal for the 4x100m relay race.
What I want to know: Who are her teamates?
What I have learnt: Her teamates names are - Alice Mills, Lisbeth Lenton
and Jodie Henry and all three were "Olympic debutantes".
Since 1956 no women's relay team has won a gold medal and this one did.
Analysis: This was deffinitely an important article because of the above
point. Think about how our country feels right about now! I can say I'm pretty
proud...
This is the site I found on the 1st day I got to work on the computer for my
project.
It has the Olympic timetable in the
middle (with a few typos).

I have a project on the Olympics. And I have been told to create a Blog. This is
it...
"No Greek tragedy, just sheer triumph"
by John Huxley
Sydney Morning Herald
14th August 2004
http://www.smh.com.au/olympics/articles/2004/08/14/1092340507069.html
What I already know: The Opening Ceremony was at 3:30 am in our time.
It was flawless.
It was the ceremony with the most visual effects ever.
What I want to know: How the stadium was finished in time after many
reports saying it wouldn'tve been.
What I have learned: ... I guess, coz I watched it, I didn't realy learn
anything from it.
Analysis: this wasn't really an important article to everyone, but it was
to me. I watched it on tv at 3:30 in the morning, and I wanted to know what
other people thought.
I have a project on the Olympics. And I have been told to create a Blog. This is
it...
"Team mascot Delta in hospital" by
Caroline Wilson
Sydney Morning Herald
13th August 2004.
http://www.smh.com.au/olympics/articles/2004/08/12/1092102604889.html
What I already know: Delta was rushed to hospital after she collapsed of
I think dehydration.
What I want to know: Will she still be singing at the Opening ceremony?
What have I learned: Delta was rushed to hospital from dehydration,
fatigue and fever.
She and her mother Lea have unlimited access to the Olympic events.
Analysis: I think it was an important article because Delta will be
singing at the Opening ceremony and I'm glad she will still be there. This was a
very relevant article.
